Vision —
We imagine a state where the citizens of its diverse communities are fulfilling their responsibility to nurture the lives of all their youth, are locked in a continual deliberation about their aspirations, and regularly advocate for the common good as they see it.

Mission —
OPSAN fosters civic revival for the well-being of all Ohio’s children.
We believe
Public schools draw their legitimacy from a public that accepts its responsibility for the well-being of its youth.
People have a responsibility to participate in their communities and to make demands of their governments for the common good.
Citizens will begin to accept responsibility for their schools when they see a path to contribute in an ongoing basis to welfare of the community’s youth.
Advocacy supports a democratic way of life when it is of the people, for the people, and by the people.
Democracy requires that people of communities regularly encounter one another in ways that build on a common good.
